After two nights in Batam and one night in Cibubur, Jakarta, I flew back to Balikpapan on Sunday evening, 27 April. Airline: Lion Air. It is 2 o’clock in the night and everybody is sleeping (Caecil, Astrid and Sanjay), except me :)
Finally arrived in Batam. No problems at passport control, they just stamped my passport right away, without even looking at the ID page! And they didn’t enter any data into any computer either. Staying at Hotel Halo Batam. Will probably fly to Jakarta tomorrow.
I’m now taking a ferry from Singapore to Batam, the ferry left Singapore 30 minutes ago. Surprisingly, there is internet coverage here at sea with my Indonesian HSDPA modem. Will soon arrive Batam (Batu Ampar).
I’m now sitting in the airport in Taipei, waiting for a China Airlines flight to Singapore. Then going straight to Batam by ferry. It is raining and pretty cold, around 18 C. Below a photo I took inside the airport arrival hall when I entered Taiwan on 21 April. Quarantine beagles.
