Next stop Colombo

When I arrived in Singapore on Monday, I checked into Cozy Corner Guest House, at the tune of SGD 14 nightly in a dorm with AC. Fair enough. I stayed here two years ago too. I noticed the same woman in the reception as before.
And since it is the year of the tiger, I thought I would post a picture of this tiger made of flowers, spotted on Orchard Road yesterday:
Today I applied for a social visa at the Indonesian embassy, and am going to pick it up tomorrow.
I also bought a pair of new sandals today (I paid SGD 153), hope they are better suited for walking than the flip-flops I’m using now. Here’s a picture:
But most importantly, I suddenly decided to make a trip to Sri Lanka, and have made the following booking with SriLankan Airlines:
DEPARTING: From Singapore to Colombo
Date: Friday 19 February 2010
Flight No: UL316
Departure Time: 07:05 arriving at 10:10
RETURNING: From Colombo to Singapore
Date: Sunday 14 March 2010
Flight No: UL312
Departure Time: 07:20 arriving at 15:20
Total Cost: SGD 377
I also made a phone call to Parisare guest house in Colombo, and booked a room for 3 days at 1000 LKR per night (around USD 9). The guest house is located in Cinnamon Gardens, the most affluent district in Colombo.
Why travel to Sri Lanka? Well, why not?
