Installed WWAN card

I just got rid of my old 3G modem USB dongle, which I bought in September 2007. Now I have an internal modem instead, an Ericsson F3507G WWAN card, which also includes a GPS module. I bought it used for Rp 200k.
It was kind of tricky to have the machine to recognize it, because it’s not on the machine’s white list. But after hours of researching on the internet, I found out that I had to do two modifications: Modifying the BIOS (using Zender BIOS), and by putting a tape over pin 20 on the modem. To test the modem, I borrowed the WLAN antenna and attach it to the WWAN card’s Main connector, since there is no WWAN antenna originally. After this was done, it was just a matter of installing the correct drivers from Lenovo.
I ordered the WWAN antenna today from Lenovo. Hopefully the GPS functionality will also work when I have the antenna in place.
