Wedding in Jakarta

Balikpapan, Indonesia

We went to Jakarta last Thursday 23 April. Caecil flew Garuda, while I flew the cheaper Mandala (Rp 425k). The plane arrived at the brand new Terminal 3, which had opened just a few days before.

I stayed in the usual places.

On Friday I went to fix my laptop, which had some dead pixels on the screen, but this was within the warranty, so no problem.

On Saturday we attended a wedding ceremony. This was the reason for the Jakarta trip.

Caecil flew back to Balikpapan on Monday morning with Garuda, while I flew back yesterday on the cheaper Air Asia (Rp 350k), from Terminal 3 again.

I’m just about to board a Lion Air flight from Jakarta back to Balikpapan.

My old passport is finally retired

My old passport from 2006 is finally retired. Although I already have a new passport, I had to show my old passport with the entry stamp from November 2008 when I just now walked through Immigration. And again, they didn’t notice the forged visa stickers covering the pages with the ripped-out visa stickers. Now I don’t have to worry about that anymore, hehe.

I am presently enjoying a cold Bintang, waiting for my flight to Bangkok. No, TWO cold Bintangs!

Waiting for flight to Bangkok

I arrived at CGK one hour ago on an AirAsia flight, and I still have to sit around here for another 4 hours while waiting for another AirAsia flight to Bangkok.

I found a cafe at the airport to sit down and have a coffee while surfing on internet with my laptop. A Bintang wouldn’t be a bad idea either…

Visa run to Bangkok

I’m flying to Bangkok on Sunday, where I will stay in the Sukhumvit area. I will meet Uno on Monday, after he arrives from Thimpu, Bhutan, and after I have applied for a social visa at the Indonesian embassy. On Thursday 26 March I will be moving my ass down to Jakarta again. Don’t have the ticket all the way back to Balikpapan yet.
