Long walk in the countryside near Ubud today (Ayung valley), around 11 km, plus 3 km with a minibus that we hailed down on the street.
Lunch at Amandari. It has a nice view of the valley and river below.
Caecil and Tabita didn’t join us on this walk.

30 September.
Caecil, Tabita, and I flew to Bali today and joined Uno and Mette in Ubud, where we are all staying at a place called Y Resort. Sleazy owner of several hotels got us tricked into this place, even though we had a booking for another of his hotels.
We had a walk in downtown Ubud, where Uno purchased a newspaper from a street vendor for Rp 90,000 (USD 10). Uno probably thought that was a fair price to pay.
We have a rented car during our stay here (rented from the same guy as last time).

Uno and Mette left for Bali today. We will do the same tomorrow.
28 September.
Back to unfinished business at Kota today. Walk around Glodok, the local Chinatown, where the traditional medicine shop was a highlight. Mediocre lunch at Cafe Batavia (the beer was good however).
Dinner at Lara Djonggrang in the evening (together with Caecil). In good Indonesian spirit the restaurant tricked us on the bill.

Walk around the fine neighbourhood of Menteng Atas, a stone’s throw from HQ. Guaranteed a tourist-free zone.
Fish meal at Epicentrum across the street in the evening, after Caecil was finished at the office.
